Build everyday digital confidence
Practise one device task and strengthen the accounts your family relies on.

Choose one useful task
Digital confidence grows through small repetitions. Pick a task you actually need: finding a downloaded document, joining a video call, or changing notification settings. Use a practice file without personal information and give yourself time to explore.
Write a short route back
After completing the task, note three or four steps in your own words. Include how to undo an action or where to find help. Labels differ between devices and versions, so use the product's own help page when a control has moved.
Protect the essentials
Use long, unique passwords, preferably created and stored with a password manager. Enable multifactor authentication where it is available, and keep software updated. Save account recovery options somewhere private so a lost phone does not mean losing access to everything.
Practise together safely
Invite an older child or trusted adult to explain a task while you do the clicking. Ask them to slow down instead of taking over. Keep passwords and recovery codes private, even during a lesson. For today, choose one account to review and one small device task to practise again tomorrow.
One thing to take with you
Learning one useful task well is enough for today.
