Make resetting easy

A landing zone is most useful when the items in it have a clear purpose. Put tomorrow’s essentials there and choose another place for long-term storage. If the area overflows, remove one category rather than immediately buying more containers. Pictures or simple labels can help a younger child recognise where their belongings go.
